Thanks to new donations received over the weekend, we have updated our Caboose-O-Meter as of April 8! Thank you to everyone who has donated to this project so far!
As we roll into spring, our volunteers have begun to tackle the interior restoration of our Lehigh Valley caboose. Since the historic car's arrival at our museum at the end of October, our volunteers have completed many important tasks that will help return this car to active service on our museum's demonstration railroad! In November, we made repairs that returned the air brake system to functionality. Several members helped in removing corroded pieces and
needle scaling the exterior of the caboose. The old obsolete oil stove has been removed, and will be replaced. The ice chest has been temporarily removed so that we can make repairs where condensation buildup has causes rot. We have already begun stripping paint off the interior woodwork, which brings us to our next fundraising effort.

Our museum is looking to raise $2000 that will help us purchase lumber so that we can replace missing interior fixtures and repair any damage. We will also be completing exterior sheet metal repairs and preparing the surface for sandblasting and primer.
